Antonin Dvorak was born in Nelahozeves. near Prague. on September 8, 1841. He spent most of his life there, with the exception of the years 1892-1895, when he served as director of the National Conservatory of Music, in New York City. it was during this sojourn that he composed the 'American' String Quartet, and Ninth. 'New World'. Symphony. He died on May 1, 1904, and is interred in the Vyserhad Cemetery in Prague. Piano Duet. four hands at one piano.
